I am in my forties and I have been investing for the past twenty years. I feel that this is unneeded regulation. All stocks have risk. I currently use my leveraged and inverse funds to help protect my portfolio. This money has helped me to pay for my home.
Dear FINRA, people should have the right to invest. It shouldn't be just for the rich people of this world
Please let the rules stay the same.
It is important to me and those I advise to have the freedom and ease of investing short and/ or with leverage in ETF products.
I'm not god's gift to investing, but these funds figure prominently in my portfolio, and I was up about 50% last year - and this year I'm doing just a little worse than the S&P. Not bad overall.
The idea that I could have been prevented from achieving these returns because I don't have a high enough net worth or because I couldn't pass
It has been brought to my attention that my ability to buy leveraged or inverse instruments may be restricted by regulators. This could adversely effect my ability to hedge my account and could ultimately have a negative impact on my investments. I would hope that this regulation would not be adopted.
It's my choice to invest in this, do not condescend and disrupt my investment strategy.
I fully understand the risks involved in leveraged securities. They are an important part of my long term strategy. I don't think I should have to pass a test to continue investing in these securities, i have made money doing it.
We the people can determine the direction of our money and our future. We can also freely provide the funding to make America run properly without someone making up laws to steal it anyway. Not everyone has time to sit and read [REDACTED] bills that cheat the American who is pursuing the American dream. If you want a share in someones money then make a deal with the individual. I have been trading in the stock market for decades. I hope you would agree that cash is a position if you are investing in the stock market. Sometimes, like now in the current market, a large cash position may be advantageous to maintaining ones wealth.
Likewise, the use of leveraged ETFs in certain sectors or even inverse or leveraged inverse ETFs in other sectors could be positions as
Mind your business which you are not with this proposal regulation.. it's a free market for a reason, let's keep it that way.
