Limiting the options for individuals to invest in public investments, which any sort of investment, whether its a security, ETF, CD, stock, fund, note, trust, etc, whether its complex, or not is not justified. Simple investments would still have a risk, irregardless of banning and limiting certain individuals to be involved in any sort of investments.
Any sort of investment, simple, or complex
I own a RIA firm and I use leveraged ETFs for myself and select clients within a globally diversified portfolio. I've gone through a state exam to fully understand what risks should be disclosed to my clients and I've worked extensively to educate my clients on the use and risks of leveraged ETFs. I've effectively used leveraged ETFs and hold them for multi year time
I don’t want to see fines for illegal practices. I want to see prosecutions and jail time. Take naked shorting. Companies found to be manipulating stocks and printing shares should be forced to cover all short positions immediately. Failure to do so should result in prison time. If I, as a citizen, counterfeit a dollar, I go to prison. If I counterfeit a share I should receive the same punishment
I feel like the integrity of the stock market is being lost on a generation because of these constant market collapses and violations with zero accountability. It looks like obvious market manipulation if a company is allowed control how trades flow. They are able to reset timers on FTDs and trade +50% of the volume in a market I have zero visibility into. 1. FTDs need to be enforced without any
Do your job! The daily market manipulation is right in front of your eyes. Naked shorting, FTD's, bs news articles paid for by HF's. We don't need to explain it to you. You are asking, because you already know the problem and just want to pretend you are trying to fix it. You are allowing fraudulent activity within and around the market to happen, and you just turn and face the
The sale of a call option and purchase of a put option with the same expiration date and strike price provides equivalent exposure to the price of a stock as a short sale. Despite this equivalence, this synthetic position does not currently create a short position that would be reportable under the current version of Rule 4560. The extent of use of this and other types of synthetic short
You should only be able to short positions you own. Dark pools should be off limits and to curb that, I believe DTCC 005 now requires, or will require, to mark/stamp each shorted stock as to prevent them from being naked shorted. We need to punish the market manipulators who are naked shorting shares they don't own (Naked shorting). Without oversight, this market manipulation will continue
I am aware of the restrictions that may be introduced on my leveraged investments and I strongly appose any limitations likely to be considered on these investments! As a private investor I should be allowed to choose where to invest my capital as I take full responsibility for the outcomes of my investment strategy. I understand leveraged and inverse funds and am fully aware of the risks
I dont see how this new regulation is necessary, since the stock market is open to the PUBLIC to invest. Then I believe it should only be right for the OURSELVES (the investors) to choose what should be right for us. I can see why this regulation can benefit a few people, but I dont understand why it would be necessary to enforce it onto everyone. Just like some people gets violated or insulted
I'm strongly opposed to any restrictions on leveraged/inverse funds. I feel I should be able to invest in these funds without passing a test, special approvals, or having "high net worth".
Every investor is able to decide for themselves and understand the risks of leveraged/inverse funds. Regulators should not be a part of that decision and should stay out of the
