Jennifer Piorko Mitchell

Jennifer Piorko Mitchell is Senior Vice President, Corporate Governance & Deputy Corporate Secretary. In this role, she ensures FINRA and its subsidiaries operate with the highest standards of governance excellence, and provides counsel to FINRA's Board of Governors and the FINRA subsidiary boards.
In this position, Ms. Mitchell manages the Office of the Corporate Secretary (OCS), which serves as the primary liaison between FINRA’s Board of Governors and management, including overseeing FINRA’s corporate elections and advisory committee governance. Ms. Mitchell also serves as the Secretary of the FINRA Investor Education Foundation.
Ms. Mitchell joined OCS in 2007 as the Assistant Corporate Secretary. In 2014, she was promoted to Vice President and elected to serve as the Secretary of the FINRA Foundation. Prior to joining OCS, Ms. Mitchell worked in FINRA’s Office of General Counsel for ten years, where she began as a paralegal and served in various supervisory positions.
Ms. Mitchell holds a B.A. in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland, an MBA from Johns Hopkins University, and a J.D. from George Washington University. She is also a Certified Corporate Governance Professional (CCGP).
