I am writing to inform you that I oppose this regulatory proposal to limit access to leveraged and inverse funds. I feel that retail investors like myself are more than capable of understanding the technicals and risks of leveraged and inverse etfs. Restricting trading of these equities is a violates the principles of the free market.
I reject the idea of anyone else, besides me, that can tell me what type of stocks I can buy. Period.
Rights need to remain with the individual, not the regulators, who have more power than I'd like, and do not want to see their power grow.
I feel that we need to fight to preserve our right to invest without being encumbered by excessive regulations and penalties.
Is it not bad enough that the government has to be greedy and take everything else from Americans along with charging taxes and then take what they do get to line their own pockets or pay for illegal immigrants? Government needs to keep their hands off the American people's money.
Inverse and Leveraged funds are an important part of ability to protect my portfolio. In down markets such as currently exists, in which the markets begin falling overnikght or in the free makret and acceIetate to downside the funds provide important day to day portfolio insurance without taking the much more extreme risk of short selling.
