The idea that institutions can sell shorts on a stock without actually owning a stock is absolutely unbelievable. Then add to that the ability to not even have to imitably purchase shares is ludicrous. Oh then scare them with putting them on threshold list that never gets enforced. Also a 48 hour delay to report in today’s worlds is totally inappropriate. Why not at the close of everyday shorts
Please do not regulate or remove our access to weighted ETF's. I use these when market sentiment has gotten bad and stocks are down. It is my hedge to help me recover losses in my core holdings. I believe it is safer than a stock option because there is no time expiration and there is diversification. All I need is patience with it. It is a necessary tool to allow me to hold my core
If you limit access to leveraged and inverse securities you should do the same for ARK etfs. They are treacherous. Many common stocks represent more risk the the leveraged etfs. I realize that the etfs don't track exactly at 2X or 3X but they are close enough. Look at a long term chart of SSO or UPRO. They are far more predictable than most common stocks or ETFs. The "Big Boys"
I should have the same rights and privileges as any other company or individual with regards to ALL stock market investment choices, including leveraged and inverse funds. First and foremost, the stock market is there for the public good, not the privileged few. I am fully capable of understanding the risks of investing and it is my responsibility to bear those risks. It is FINRA's
Leverage etfs do not represent any more risk than the basic inherent nature of stock market. How does a market pricing of NFLX at 600 and going down to $180 in a short order ( or price of AMC going up and down without rhyme and reason) present less risk than a leverage ETF. The whole premise of SEC is wrong. Stock market is a manipulated market and a by product of so many countervailing forces.
Hello, I find it not only unfair but downright illegal for ANYONE or any FIRM to be able to manufacture shares of stock that they do not own. Often referred to as synthetic shares they seem to be used to manipulate stock prices either up or down at their pleasure and steal hard earned money form the honest shareholders of any given company. How can the honest person decide if an investment in a
It is completely demoralizing as a retail investor to see what goes on with the stock market manipulation via shorting, off-exchange trading, and lack of reporting on short positions. The market is only fair if you have enough money to play. The fact that institutions can trade off exchange, use a million different tactics to short a stock (especially high frequency trading), and get fined
I am an investor in AMC. I, as millions of others, have purchased our shares and held honestly. The hedge funds, however, have continually manipulated the stock market, namely AMC and GME. Their reporting of short interest position and their manipulation of naked shares, dark pool shenanigans, short ladder attacks and getting slaps on the wrist being fined a pittance compared to their net worth
Order execution on the dark pool vs nyse. 1. There needs to be a limit on how many share that can be purchased on the dark pool and sold on the nyse to short a stock. 2. A market maker should not be allowed to handle orders of execution on a stock he or she is shorting. This creates a huge conflict of interest and predatory practices. They will just route your buys through the dark side and your
