On October 14, 1992, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved an amendment adding new Section 45 to Article III of the Rules of Fair Practice requiring members to send account statements to
(a) Time Limitation on Submission of Claims
No claim shall be eligible for submission to arbitration under the Code where six years have elapsed from the occurrence or event giving rise to the claim. The panel will resolve any questions regarding the eligibility of a claim under this rule.

Dismissal of a claim under this rule does not prohibit a party from
