All shares should be visible and trackable. Every share should be able to be accounted for. There should be higher accountability on naked shorting and FTDs and for those who use the illegal practice should face severe consequences.
I believe individual investors should have total transparency on all short positions including naked positions. Total transparency will allow more of a free market and allow individuals to make better investment decisions.
T-0 settlement. Real fines or jail time for naked shorting. FTD’s need to be covered or receive at the least a 70% fine. Shut down dark pool trades, they are a huge scam against the retail traders.
increased reporting requirements around the currently broadly abused short selling practices in the stock market (including naked shorting, mis-reporting longs as shorts, re-hypothecated shares, married puts/calls, and fails to deliver) are a step in the right direction, the proposed changes do not go far enough to provide transparency and fairness to the public. Please consider providing all of
When will naked short selling and using dark pools to manipulate stock prices outlawed? The people doing this are committing treason. The current system is unfair and everyone is turning a blind eye to it. The American people are your employers.
1- Mandate reporting daily; multiple times 2- validate reporting is accurate 3- stricter punishment for inaccurate reporting 4- more crackdowns on naked shorting and failures to deliver 5- require FTDs to be resolved and delivered within a shorter period of time
Request to ban naked short selling and to implement rules that curb it (e.g., T-0). Increase transparency of market makers. Follow in other countries' footsteps in bringing criminal charges and impactful fines ($1B+) against violaters.
Do something about the naked shorts!!! It's illegal!! And why do they just pay a fine? they should be paying the retail investors!!! Us retail investors are tired of this corruption and manipulation! They should pay those FTDs!!
Naked short selling was made illegal, yet the hedge funds still conduct in this activity almost daily. Harsher penalties need to be dealt by regulatory agencies to ensure it stops and not just by dealing out small fines that are pennies on the dollar compared to what the hedge funds stand to make. Mandatory and constant audits need to happen by regulatory agencies to ensure shorts and FTDs are
I don’t want to see fines for illegal practices. I want to see prosecutions and jail time. Take naked shorting. Companies found to be manipulating stocks and printing shares should be forced to cover all short positions immediately. Failure to do so should result in prison time. If I, as a citizen, counterfeit a dollar, I go to prison. If I counterfeit a share I should receive the same punishment
