Leverage funds are part of my investment strategy on getting retired. I understand the risk I am taking using these products and I dont need to pass a test in order to own them. Thus far they have been the most successful part of my investing career. Please let us buy these instruments without the interference of the Govt.
Investors, like the freedom of speech, need to have the latitude to discern and invest in product of their choosing. The products in which you are attempting to limit, are essential to hedging positions and mitigating directional risk. These tools are also useful in speculative positions, inherent to investors with strong views on market direction. Do not alter our ability to participate in the
I have done my own research and am aware of the risks and benefits associated with leveraged ETFs. I currently own such investments so that I can leverage the midcap class and I plan on buying more on my own accord in the future. I will be less inclined to engage in these strategies if I am limited by a regulator with regards to which funds I can purchase.
Government over reach is a horrible thing. Are you stopping people from entering casinos next?
Diversified leveraged investing isnt right for all but for a percentage of your portfolio, it can actually enhance returns while lowering risk. Dont take away our freedom to invest in our country and the future of our children.
I have recently used small inverse funds to help me hedge the terrible fall in my stocks. If not for these funds, I would have considered selling off many more of my holdings at losses rather than take even more risk. Is this really what you want? Please don't add any restrictions.
I have many years experience in investing, I shouldn't have to go through any special process like passing a test before I can invest in public securities, like leveraged and inverse funds. I'm totally capable of understanding leveraged and inverse funds and their risks. I do not need these measures imposed on you. Thank you!
I oppose to the restricting of what I can or cannot invest in with my hard earned money. I manage my own retirement accounts and have done well with leveraging positive and negative ETFs. Sometimes to a 4 to 6 times increase. I am well aware of the risks I take and I shouldn't be limited based on my net worth or lack of "formal" education.
Why do you need to remove a risk management tool from the individual investor. I have used both leveraged funds and inverse in my portfolio to augment my other investments and find them very useful.
If you want to "protect and educate" the consumer--develop a core study for high school students on financial literacy.
Leveraged risk can be highly risky but also highly rewarding. For a long term retail investor it allows me to take advantage of volatility and significant swings in the markets. No one has a foot on my neck telling me how to assess risk/reward ratios . Would be very upsetting if the small guy was unable to access these instruments .
I am very much against restrictions proposed in this regulatory notice. While the risk of financial loss when investing in these products is high, so is the opportunity for significant profits. Government should not control how I invest my money or make me run through multiple hoops to invest. Please do not implement the proposed rules.
