To whom it may concern, I have used leveraged and inverse funds within the past two years in time of high volatility to hedge against my portfolio. If the instruments are taken away from us, and allowed for use for only to special personnel then my right to choose my investments is essentially taken away. I understand that there are risks involved with the use of leveraged and inverse funds,
I strongly oppose restrictions of investors to be limited to leveraged and inverse funds, as these type of investments permit investors to property balance, diversify and limit risk to their portfolio in all types bear and bull markets by sector. Without these type funds, our investment opportunities will be limited. It also defeats the need and desire to learn and understand financial markets
I believe I should have the full unrestricted power to invest MY MONEY in what I believe is a responsible way and not the "regulators", as simple as that.
The individual not regulators should be able to choose the public investments that are right for him/her and his/her family. Public investments should be available to all of the public, not just the privileged.
In times of extreme volatility, leveraged funds serve an important function in the management of my retirement assets. They do not consume many dollars, yet because of their enhanced status protect the downside of my non-leveraged funds. As a long time investor, I should be able to decide for myself how much risk I want to take in my investments. It is no benefit to make things more difficult for everyone.
I don't want the top .001 % to benefit from the crash. Everyone is equal.
I OPPOSE RESTRICTIONS TO MY RIGHT TO INVEST.
All investors should be able to freely choose their own investment strategy. We dont need more regulation. Regular disclosures from fund managers is sufficient to protect investors and provide adequate notice of the risks.
