Leveraged and inverse funds allow me to offset inflation. It is my choice to be able to make decisions to improve and support my investment strategies. In fact, Regulators cause the need for these types of investments.
Please don't restrict buying/selling leveraged funds. Restrictions provide an unfair advantage to the privileged. Leveraged funds are a valuable option for a small portion of my assets. Absolutely don't force anyone to sell leveraged funds they already own as this could case extreme negative consequences.
I do not need nor do I want a nanny to tell me what I can or can not do with my own money. It should not matter how much or how little I have to invest. It is none of your business whether I have educated myself in safe or responsible investing. What you should be policing is fraud and misleading investment information.
Guys - gimme a break!! Leave well enough alone!! we KNOW what we are doing, and do NOT need your "guardrails"!!!
Ladies and Gentlemen,
As a retired RIA and portfolio manager who spent more than 25 years managing assets and advising private clients, I object to FINRA's Notice #22-08 proposing to limit access to leveraged and inverse ETFs. I oppose Restrictions to my Right to invest.
I, not regulators should be able to choose the public
investments that are right for you and your family.
I shouldn't have to go through any special process, to invest in leveraged and inverse Funds.
Leveraged and inverse funds are important to my
investment strategies.
Please don't limit our ability to choose investment products for ourselves. That would be un-American. We don't need the government to be our nanny.
I should be able to decide what the right investment is for me and my family. Levered and Inverse funds are safer than the alternative. The alternative is to short, use margin, use futures, or use calls and puts. All of which can wipe out your entire capital. Levered and inverse levered products offer an amazing alternative to less sophisticated investors. They're definitely more volatile,
I should be able to choose the public investments that are right for me and my family. Public investments should be available to all of the public, not just the privileged. Besides, I shouldn't have to go through any special process like passing a test before I can invest in public securities, like leveraged and inverse funds. I'm capable of understanding leveraged and inverse funds and
I oppose restrictions on my right to invest in public investments, and I am capable of understanding leveraged and inverse funds and their risks. I don't need these measures imposed on me.
