Fidelity is going to offer bitcoin and youre going to limit leveraged etfs? How does that make sense. Bitcoin isnt even real.
Leveraged etfs have a place in a portfolio as part of a risk tolerant strategy, adding with bonds its easier to create the optimal portfolio mix for a given risk level. Its just a tool in the toolbox, why limit it?
I am responsible for my own investments, and for the risks I am willing to accept. Do not play big government that thinks it knows better than I do about the risks I am willing to accept. I am college educated and have been invested for decades. Please leave my investment decisions up to me and do not interfere with my right to invest as I please.
FINRA President and CEO Robert Cook, Chairman Bill Heyman, Board members and FINRA staff provide updates on the December 2017 FINRA Board of Governors meeting, including discussions around FINRA’s finances and financial transparency, 2017 accomplishments, enterprise risk management and more.
Leveraged products provide an effective way to hedge a portfolio and should be left alone. If the concern is Retail traders not understanding the risks, then put a higher bar to entry to invest in them or limit options within 30 DTE or ban them from 401ks, but it is too much of an overreach to prevent retail investors from adding risk to their portfolios when they are comfortable with it.
Im a financial advisor and only invest in these products for myself and have extensive knowledge in these securities and have been incredibly crucial to my investment strategy and DI NOT WANT TO LOSE ACCESS TO INVEST IN LEVERAGED ETFs. I am aware of the risks and the brokerage firms also make me well aware of the risks. Please do not take away access to invest in these securities!
Do not take away my rights to decide how, when, and what legitimate investments to make. I am in charge of my financial future and make decisions based upon my situation, risk appetite, and personal goals. I can read risk documentation to understand my decisions and DO NOT want regulators determining what is right for myself and family.
I believe that it is important to separate retirement investments into diverse vehicles reduce risk and protect investments over time. Please do not restrict our capability to invest in public investments including cryptocurrency funds. My family is more than capable of investigating, researching, and understanding the risk involved with investing a portion of our hard earned money in the funds
I OPPOSE RESTRICTIONS TO MY RIGHT TO INVEST
Investors should have the free right to choose whatever that's suitable for their strategies. Not to mention that many funds on this list are used heavily to hedge our portfolios and reduce the risk exposure. By limiting our rights, you are actually putting more risk to our portfolios rather than protecting them.
Think Twice!
I don't need your protection from leverage risk, inverse funds, cryptocurrency or any other investment opportunity I find it laughable that inverse funds would even make you list, given all the downside risk currently being created and allowed by regulatory bodies. Protect me from the FED before you do anything else!
This rule is unacceptable. There is no place to limit "risky" investments from the people. If someone decides to invest in something they do not fully understand, they are accepting the risk that they may loose significant amounts of money. There is no reason to protect people from these. Everyone should be provided with free choice to invest where they wish. Worst case scenario
