Limiting levered funds would be akin to limiting options, futures, swaps, or any other derivative products that investors use to hedge risk or seek profit. Leverage exists everywhere. One example is a mortgage. Another example is home insurance. There is nothing special about levered funds that is any different that other examples of the use of leverage in the economy.
Dear Finra,
I strongly encourage you to continue allowing retail and retirement investors like myself to continue investing in levered and complex products. These products are great investment tools for people like myself who choose to perform careful and thoughtful research while understanding the risks that come with them. It would be government overreach to restrict individuals from making
I OPPOSE RESTRICTIONS TO MY RIGHT TO INVEST
I, not regulators, should be able to choose the public investments that are right for my family.
Leveraged and inverse funds are important to my investing strategies.
Please do not impose regulations that limit my ability to buy leveraged or inverse ETFs.
In an economy like this it is important to create a hedge using these products.
Thanks,
Mike Quinn
I OPPOSE RESTRICTIONS TO MY RIGHT TO INVEST!
Considering that regulations on investing in the past has shown a total ineptitude in helping the small investor or are only implemented to help the rich. Those that are their to help us are worse then we could ever be and Im not one to be against regulations in general.
Please do not restrict my right to invest in what you consider to be complex markets. I am able to understand what I am doing without your oversight.
Comments: Consumers should be asked to sign a consent form for the risk they are undertaking which is already the process today I think. I don't believe any other restriction is necessary.
I'm fed up with regulations that pretend every American is a victim, and assume all businesses are evil. The ONLY things this proposal will accomplish are wasting investor's valuable time and creating yet another layer of useless/costly bureaucratic nonsense. GET A REAL JOB AND STOP INFLICTING NANNY STATE GARBAGE ON INVESTORS WHO ARE SMARTER THAN GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES AND SELF-RIGHTEOUS
I have traded leveraged etf for 20 years. I read the prospective and used the leveraged etf to reduce some risks. I want to this tool to be available to me, not just the privileged. I dont want regulars to impose a test on me.
