I reject the idea of anyone else, besides me, that can tell me what type of stocks I can buy. Period.
Rights need to remain with the individual, not the regulators, who have more power than I'd like, and do not want to see their power grow.
I have been investing for 65 years and, at age 90, have not run out of funds. Small doses of leveraged and inverse funds help me deal with trends as I see them. I feel much more comfortable using inverse funds than shorting stocks.
Eliminating inverse leveraged ETFs will cause more risk for investors as they will be forced to spend more money on long leaps and be forced to shorting stocks which has unlimited risk. People need to be able to think for themselves and make their own decisions based on their risk tolerance.
Please dont restrict our ability to invest in ETFs. They are valuable investment tools and help hedge high risk portfolios or add options to low risk portfolios to increase returns. Theyre a much better option than high flying stocks with almost no earnings.
Leveraged and inverse funds are extremely important to my overall investment strategies. I understand the risks of leveraged funds and use them to capture upside in the markets. Several popular single-name stocks have proven to be even more volatile and risky than 3x leveraged funds.
I believe it is up to each individual to perform their own due diligence before investing in a stock, etf, etn or mutual fund.
Leveraged and inverse funds offer opportunities to those that handle their own investments, burdensome rules and regulations will serve to limit access by the independent investors.
I am a former high school teacher. I have been reading in economics for years. The inverse ETFs permit me to hedge my long positions. They are much less risky than shorting individual stocks. It would be not a help to me to take them off the market.
I use leveraged and inverse funds routinely and have done very well, so long as I hedge leveraged stock funds with leveraged bond funds. Having back-tested rules to guide the balancing is key. Please do not interfere with my attempts to improve my model.
Leveraged ETFs are a simpler way of safely leveraging up a portion your stock and bond allocation compared to a margin loan or pledged asset line. I am for the continued existence of 2X and 3X leveraged ETFs so I can set my own asset allocation.
I had been investing in stock market for long time. I have the knowledge and means to invest the way I want without government regulators telling me what to do. I have used leveraged funds to enhance my returns. Therefore, I'm oppose this governmental interference.
