Dear Sir/Madam: I am an active investor with more than 33 years of successful investing experience in global capital markets.
I am also a licensed Financial Advisor with one of the largest wealth management firms in North America. Based on my many years of experience in the investments business I can confidently say that leveraged and inverse mutual funds and ETFs are extremely important and
A. Its my right to make choices of my own investments
B. I started buying securities since 1973 . I have enough experience to make investment decisions.
C. The stocks securities I am holding represent own 5% of my total assets
D. I should not be subject to any investment restrictions
I'm a self directed woman investor and NOT in favor of anyone decided what I can and can't invest in based on wealth, complexity of investment, or whether or not I can pass a test. Making the changes suggested will eliminate my ability to fund my retirement at a reasonable level, that I have been carefully and diligently saving and investing for for over 3 decades.
Instead of trying to pass more restrictions for average lower income bracket investors, how about you looking into institutional shorting of stocks? The way they manipulate the market so easily is criminal.
This regulation should not be passed. it restricts an investor's right select his/her own investments.
I like to buy leveraged and inverse funds once in a while to hedge my portfolio when circumstances are right. They never take a large position in my strategy because they can be dangerous. But knowing the risks and the rewards, I believe that using or not using them should fully be my decision.
Dear regulators,
While I appreciate the concern about investor's wellbeing behind this potential move, the outright prohibition or hindering access to these instruments would have, in my honest opinion, just the opposite effect to that desired.
Leveraged and inverse funds are a core piece of the investment strategy of many small investors like me, that use them not in a reckless way but
Guys, stop with the whole, "YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING! WE HAVE TO PROTECT YOU FROM YOURSELF!" .. It's outdated and clear that you just want more control over who can invest, when they can invest, and how many people can actually become financially stable in the future, far and near. Again, it's all about control, you want the control
This is not fair for private investors to hedge market volatility
I routinely hold and trade leveraged ETFs and I know what my risk tolerance and objectives are for these investments. I do not see any need to add additional layers of rules or regulations to my trading strategy. Please do not impose additional requirements that will make supporting my family more difficult.
