N/A
An individual should be able to make their own choices regarding what their risk tolerance is and what investment vehicles they choose. Leveraged/Inverse funds are only a small portion of my portfolio. I use this type of an investment as a hedge to protect the rest of my portfolio as well as enhance my overall returns. Over the last 50 years that I have had an active portfolio of investments, my risk tolerance has decreased. However, I will always maintain a portion of my investments in aggressive securities. This is a choice that I have made as an informed investor. I no longer trade options or other high-risk securities. My primary choice at this point in my life is to select a group of mutual funds that invest in a broad range of securities. It is also my choice as part of my total portfolio to invest in a leveraged/inverse fund. I choose not to manage my own investments any longer. It is my choice to select funds who management teams that have shown a strong track record over many years. I spend time researching the management team before I invest in any fund. It is the management team and their decisions that dictate where I invest. This should not be a decision that is taken out of my hands.
