Raising additional barriers to entry different types of investments runs a serious risk of exacerbating economic inequality. Public knowledge of investing topics has increased dramatically over the last few years as access to the market has improved for general public. There will always be those who choose riskier investments and there will always be those who choose safer investments, but it should be left to the public to inform themselves and make their own investment decisions. The proposed rules here are extreme, and if any measures of this type are taken they should be limited to those measures that help make sure prospective investors are clearly informed of the risks of leveraged funds, but these measures should not do anything to limit public access to these kinds of investment instruments. I've been an investor in public markets for a few years and I have been able to use leveraged funds in strategic ways to hedge my portfolio. I would be upset I did not have access to these funds because I had to jump through a lot of hoops or because I'm an unaccredited retail investor. I am very knowledgeable about investing topics and I know what I'm doing and what I'm risking when I use these kinds of investment instruments. Thank you for your consideration.
