Tom Stamos Comment On Regulatory Notice 22-08

Individuals, not regulators, should be able to choose the investments that meet our objectives. I have been using Leveraged Funds for many years to meet my families portfolio objectives.
And we shouldn't have to verify we have a Masters Degree in these type of investments. Brokers include a disclaimer stating certain types of products carry a higher amount of risk. There are certain times in the market to take advantage of different types of investment products. It's no different than selecting Bonds or a Value Fund or Growth Fund for a particular stage of the market.
It would be a regulatory over reach to put restrictions on these types of investment products.
