I personally oppose the restrictions set forth to restrict the public from investing in the wide variety of investment vehicles threatened here. These restrictions would injury market liquidity, fair price discovery, and establish glass ceilings within the investment world. Furthermore, it would eliminate reasonable hedging opportunities for the public, many of whom are sufficiently educated to use these strategies effectively. Finally, as a society, we should hold members of the public accountable for their own decisions instead of expecting a committee to step in to produce artificial stability.

Thomas Merkh Comment On Regulatory Notice 22-08
To the FINRA regulatory committee,
I personally oppose the restrictions set forth to restrict the public from investing in the wide variety of investment vehicles threatened here. These restrictions would injury market liquidity, fair price discovery, and establish glass ceilings within the investment world. Furthermore, it would eliminate reasonable hedging opportunities for the public, many of whom are sufficiently educated to use these strategies effectively.
