I am strongly opposed to any restriction to on my ability to invest in leveraged and inverse funds. These funds are great innovations that have been extremely helpful in hedging my regular investments since they became available. Loss of these products would expose me to a higher level of risk. Independent entities are at a disadvantage vis a vis institutions in all social interaction, including that which takes place in the investment sphere. Restrictions increase that disadvantage. After several decades of experience, I am quite capable of determining what activities are beyond my grasp. Time and effort required to churn through special measures designed to ascertain that I am able to understand the undertaking, necessarily detract from the time and energy that would otherwise be available to research and act in the relevant sphere.
Please do not subject me to these restrictions. Even if well intended, the effect is unjust.
