I highly value the ability to invest in levered and complex products. They are an important component of my self-directed portfolio. They allow me to access investment strategies that would be too difficult or impossible to replicate on my own. I use them primarily as a hedging/risk reduction tool. I believe strongly that preventing by regulation the ability of individual investors to invest in these products would be wrong and misguided. Education is key, not unfair regulation.
