Shailesh Joshi Comment On Regulatory Notice 22-08

Shailesh Joshi
N/A

I am completely opposed to any partial or complete restrictions on the right to invest in any public investments. I have been investing in the leveraged/inverse funds for portfolio hedging and have not found them to be any extra risky than regular funds as long as normal risk management process using proper stop loss is followed.

Leveraged and inverse funds are very important for small investors to achieve target returns given the limited amount of corpus that they operate with. These funds form an important part of my hedging strategies due to their simplicity and flexibility which would otherwise require complex option positions to protect my investments. Any restrictions on using leveraged and inverse funds would actually result in increased investment costs and higher risks for me.

I therefore strongly request you to not restrict my ability to invest in leveraged and inverse funds in any fashion.
