Richard Campbell-Peterson Comment On Regulatory Notice 22-08

Richard Campbell-Peterson

I want to continue choosing my investments without inference from government regulators. I have been buying and selling securities for over 25 years. During that time I have invested in inverse funds, which includes a fund I am invested in today, of which I made a purchase of just two days ago. I am fully capable of understanding leveraged, and inverse funds, and should be able to continue investing in them if I choose, without first having to endure the hardship of passing a test imposed on me by the government, regulators. I am shocked that the government, regulators would even consider interfering with an investors right to invest their money as they choose. Especially so as there has never been so many options to lose a unlimited amount of money "gambling". The providers of "gambling" services receive a guaranteed profit, of which the government happily takes their percentage. I believe there are seven video slot business in my town alone, for which losing money is all but guaranteed. As a investor I know that there will be a negative return on my money by participating in legal gambling, which is why I choose not to do it. Investors put a great deal of 'sober" thought into their investments. I have participating in countless discussions with fellow investors regarding investment options. Brick and mortar gambling locations have alcohol available for their customers, thereby making it more likely that their gambling customers will lose ever more money. I can hear the call country wide from gamblers, gambling providers, right to choose groups, etc., if the federal government took steps to interfere with, regulate "gambling", in wats similar to those being considered for investors. My guess is that nearly every provider of gambling services would go out of business. I am strongly requesting that no restrictions be imposed on investors in regards to purchasing leveraged and inverse funds. Surely investors deserve the same freedoms as "gamblers". I can hardly believe I am forced to spend my time and energy writing this, in order to hopefully persuade the government, regulators, to not interfere with my right to invest in leveraged. inverse, funds.
