Hello,
I feel it is extremely important to write to you regarding restrictions as to what my choices are to invest in. I should be able to choose the public investments that are right for myself and my family and those choices should include a broad spectrum of choices and not be limited by regulation.
Public investments should be available to all of the public, not just the privileged which has been the case up to now. I shouldn't have to go through any special process like passing a test before you can invest in public securities, like leveraged and inverse funds. If that is absolutely necessary then it should be extremely simple to demonstrate my understanding of the risks. Most investors are capable of understanding leveraged and inverse funds and their risks and should be allowed to invest accordingly.
I use inverse and leveraged funds as a hedge in my portfolio and also to take positions when I have strong macro beliefs. Without these options in the current market environment I would be forced to go to cash and reduce positions severely impeding my ability to adjust to different market environments. I respectfully ask you consider that investment choices in my personal portfolio should not be restricted and feel strongly it would be a mistake to enact restrictive regulations on personal investment accounts.
