I would like to voice my opposition to restrictions on my right to invest in leveraged and inverse funds. I have learned that FINRA is considering limiting the public's access to leverage and inverse funds. I highly disagree with this. I should be able to choose what investments are right for me without restrictions, limitations, or extra requirements. These types of investments should not be limited to just the privileged or high net individuals or those who can pass a test. Individual investors should be provided an equal playing field in the market that doesn't restrict our access. There is already ample information available for individual investors, like myself, to understand leveraged and inverse funds and their risks. Individual investors, like myself, are fully capable of understanding these risks and making our own decisions on how to use them in our investment strategies. Leveraged and inverse funds are an important part of my strategies and allow me to hedge my investments as well as use them in limited ways as part of my investment strategy to achieve enhanced returns. Please do not require individual investors to get special broker approval or require us to attest to special reading requirements. This is not right and will on serve to make access to these investments more complicated than they need to be. I want to especially voice my objections to imposing a "Cool Off Period" that would limit when I have access to these investments. Cool off periods would greatly limit my ability to implement certain strategies in my portfolio that are time sensitive. Cool off periods would only hurt individual investors ability to play on an equal playing field to the big investment firms.
