I believe that restrictions on the ability to invest in inverse and leverage funds should not be made. I use triple leveraged funds to get greater returns/market exposure while maintaining some free cash in my portfolio to invest. These should be publicly available as it allows the average investor to have many more options available to them. Even with low amounts of starting capital, a savvy investor can get good returns. Individuals should be able to determine for themselves whether they want to trade these financial products, not regulators. The disclaimers regarding the market performance and effects of these funds should be enough for people to make their own financial decisions. More stringent tests could make it so that only the wealthy can profit more from complex investment products.
