I want to be able to decide for myself whether a particular leveraged or inverse investment vehicle is appropriate for my investment strategy. Although I have a middle-income-level job, I do not feel that I should have to submit to some kind of FINRA-mandated means testing or other qualifying criteria to invest in leveraged or inverse investment products. .
I have invested in some of these products as a means of diversifying or hedging my portfolio in order.to reduce my investment risks. For example, when the Russian-Ukrainian war broke out and when the country was clearly under sustained (not transitory) runaway inflation due to the ill-conceived fiscal and monetary policies of the Fed and the current administration, the stocks in my portfolio were under continued selling pressure. I was able to hedge my portfolio by taking inverse ETF positions in NASDAQ stocks and by investing in leveraged ETFs in defense, oil and natural gas, and various other commodities..
FINRA should not regulate away investors ability to try to hedge their portfolios as protection against the bad economic policy decisions of Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, the Federal Reserve, and the Democrat Party- controlled Congress.
