Subject: Investors ability to trade "complex products" - including leveraged and inverse funds (L&I Funds).
Dear Regulators,
I am Kamala Chandrasekaran, 58 years old and I like to voice my opinion regarding your proposal on limiting access to Leveraged and Inverse ETFs (complex products).
Educated Investor: I like to inform you that I am an educated investor in the stock market and actively trading with my husband over the past 25 years. I have a degree in Science.
Studied the characteristics of the complex products: With regards to the leveraged funds, I fully understand the risks. I watched the leveraged funds over the last 2 years regarding its behavior and movements w.r.t to the underlying base fund and the market. After studying their characteristics fully, I started investing in couple of the funds. I intend to use this for short term trading when the prices are very attractive and not buying them on impulse or being greedy.
Sufficient warning descriptions from Brokerage firms: I also like to state that the brokerage firms that I use clearly mention the risks of leveraged funds every time when I place an order. I also understand the multiples is applicable only on the daily basis. As the leveraged ETFs covers the breadth with various industries and numerous underlying stocks without time decay, I feel they are comparatively less risky.
So, I kindly request you to keep the individual ability on what they like to invest to achieve their financial goal.
