I am a CPA by trade currently working in the banking sector and have combined public/private experience of more than 20 years. I actively manage my retirement account as well as family fund. I hold bachelor and master degrees in accounting/finance and has been self-educating myself in investing over the years. I don't need a broker license or CFA title because I don't intend to work for other people in the investment industry.
Leveraged and inverse ETFs are important market tools for me to risk manage my family wealth. Not only can I use these products to hedge my positions from time to time, they are essential tools for me to preserve AND grow my hard earned capital. Any rules to restrict investors like myself on the freedom to choose leverage and inverse ETF products are violation of my rights to manage my own money. Therefore, I object to FINRA's proposal to restrict investors' ability to buy leveraged and inverse ETFs.
