I personally know plenty of accredited investors and Series 7-licensed individuals alike who couldn't accurately tell you the difference between a muni bond and a [REDACTED]; at the same time, I also know plenty of "small dollar" individuals who are perfectly able to grasp the concepts of options and leverage and when it is or may be appropriate to use them in their investments. Trying to assert that the ability to learn or understand an idea correlates to one's investable assets or that it can only be understood by taking your licensing exam is laughable and elitist.
