As a small individual investor I frequently use leveraged and/or inverse funds. I have for years and am aware of the additional risk involved in using such investment vehicles. Usually I use these funds to take advantage of short term market trends. To suggest that some special knowledge, other than reading the prospectus, is absurd. And implementing a net worth requirement will ultimately exclude small investors from utilizing investment opportunities which have been available for some time.
