I strongly object to RN #22-08 for the following reasons:
1) I believe I have the right to be able to choose the public investments that are right for me and my family.
FINRA seeks to render some public investments unavailable to the public, and to grant access only to the privileged. It's not FINRA's place to decide whether I should or shouldn't be granted access to leveraged and inverse funds.
2) I shouldn't have to go through any special process like passing a test before I can invest in public securities of any kind. My brokerage, TD Ameritrade, provides me with all the necessary up to date information about leveraged and inverse funds. I regularly read it carefully and I am fully capable of understanding leveraged and inverse funds and their risks. I do not need FINRA's measures imposed on me.
3) Leveraged and inverse funds are very important to my investment strategies. I have been successfully using leverage and inverse funds for years for my day trades and swing trades for their ability to consistently give me enhanced returns. What I do with my money is my own responsibility, not FINRA's. I am not a child who needs parenting.
4) These restrictions on my right to invest have no place in a free market society, and should not be enforced in a free country like the US.
Thank you for reading this note.
I hope you will reconsider your proposition and refrain from infringing investors' rights in that matter.
