Charles Edwards Comment On Regulatory Notice 22-08
Charles Edwards
N/A
Sir or Madam,
I would like to object to the possible new regulations concerning under what circumstances some investors may be prevented or limited from trading leveraged and inverse ETFs. Specifically:
Pass a regulator-imposed test of your specialized investment knowledge
Demonstrate a high net worth
Get special approval from your broker
Attest to reading certain materials
Go through cooling off periods during which you cant invest
I have been trading these types of securities for a about 16 years, and feel comfortable doing so. I am concerned that restricting participation in these securities may make the market for them illiquid, and thus function poorly. Possibly even forcing the sponsors to cancel them completely.
Please reconsider your possible restrictions on the trading of these securities.
