whereas I, not distant technocrats to whom I am a mere data point, ought to choose which investments are correct for me and my current investing situation / strategy,
whereas I should be able to access any investment or type of publicly traded security without capricious and arbitrary restrictions imposed, including but not limited to having to pass a knowledge or means based test before being deemed worthy to use a particular investment strategy,
whereas I understand the risks involved with leveraged and inverse trading instruments and am capable of researching such instruments to judge (for myself) if they are appropriate for me,
and whereas the federal government ought not exclude large portions of the public from sectors of the market reserved for others (however defined),
I oppose the imposition of the proposed restrictions on the public as regards trading in leveraged and inverse securities.
