Karinya Verghese
Vice President and Chief of Staff, Enforcement
Karinya Verghese is Vice President and Chief of Staff for FINRA Enforcement. In this role, Ms. Verghese provides strategic support to the Executive Vice President in the performance of a diverse range of functions that advance Enforcement’s operational effectiveness and strategic direction. She is also responsible for managing the Operations team within Enforcement, which include Policies and Procedures, Regulatory Liaison, Central Intake Group, Training and Development, and Communications.
Ms. Verghese joined FINRA in 2016 and served as an Associate Regional Director for FINRA’s Office of Dispute Resolution until 2020. Prior to joining FINRA, she worked as a commercial mediator and conflict resolution consultant in Los Angeles and also spent eight years as a corporate lawyer with major Australian law firms in her hometown of Sydney, Australia.
Ms. Verghese holds a bachelor’s degree and a law degree from the University of Sydney, as well as an LLM in Dispute Resolution from the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University.
