Abby Slonecker

Abby Slonecker joined FINRA in early 2021 as Chief of Staff to Greg Ruppert and Senior Vice President of Member Supervision’s Office of Strategy and Program Risk (OSPR). In her role as Chief of Staff, she executes Greg’s strategic vision toward fulfilling FINRA’s mission and advises his Senior Leadership team. As SVP of OSPR, she oversees five teams that advise and support Member Supervision’s regulatory work. These teams include Strategy and Execution, Regulatory Liaison, Strategic Engagement, Regulatory Advisor, and Business Enablement, Engagement, and Regulatory Training.  

Ms. Slonecker has more than 15 years of experience leading cross-functional teams and developing strategies that optimize performance and deliver results. Before joining FINRA, she held strategic and operational roles at several fast-growing and innovative companies, including Salesforce, Tableau, Expedia and T-Mobile. In these roles, she led the legal team’s strategic initiatives, focused on legal and regulatory compliance, and managed disputes and litigation. Early in her career, Ms. Slonecker was a defense attorney for private companies, including Member Firms in class action cases, regulatory actions and other disputes.  

Ms. Slonecker holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a law degree from the University of San Francisco.
