Diversity Leadership Council
Established in 2009, the FINRA Diversity Leadership Council is tasked with developing and implementing a robust diversity and inclusion strategy at FINRA. It recommends steps and initiatives that foster an environment where all employees are valued, recognized for their contributions and given the opportunity to perform their best work and support FINRA's mission.
Specifically, the Council:
- researches, develops and recommends initiatives to senior management;
- partners with Human Resources to implement programs and other initiatives; and
- solicits input from all lines of business on diversity and worklife.
Since its inception, the Council has recommended, and FINRA has implemented, formal mentoring programs, employee resource groups, a diversity awareness survey and training, and outreach opportunities that help foster a culture of diversity and inclusion, and encourage employees to engage in meaningful, ongoing dialogue that helps strengthen this culture.
The Council consists of 22 leaders from across the organization who are selected based on their commitment to diversity and inclusion efforts at FINRA and within their own communities.
